Cape Town - False Bay
The name "False Bay" came from centuries ago when sailors thought that they had already sailed around Cape Point but, in fact, hadn't. False bay begins at Gordon's Bay and ends at Cape Point. The bay has a width of about 41 km and offers a stunning view. In the summer months it is possible to bathe at various places around the bay. Many beaches, like Muizenberg and Fish Hoek, are good places to cool down on a hot summer's day. The reason for the warm water temperature is the Agulhas current. The warm layers of the ocean are pushed into False Bay by the strong southeasterly wind.
The warm and cold ocean currents meet at the Cape of Good Hope. The actual border between the Atlantic and Indian Ocean, however, lies at the most southern tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas. The following areas and regions that are worth visiting:
