Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - japa dapa duuuuuuuuuuuuuu, I am the fastest animal in the world and my name is cheetah. If your daddy does not take care then I will go past him on the highway. No one can equal my speed of 114 km/h. Sadly, I cannot run thaaaat fast over a long distance and after a sprint I have to go sleep for a while. I love hunting little animals. The healthy animals often get away from me because they run in a zigzag. This is really mean of them. I can't change direction so quickly. I like to hunt in the mornings and the evenings. I can hide in the grass during this time.
Many people mistake me for a leopard. This is funny because it is soooo easy to tell us apart. My head has a different shape and I have much longer legs than the leopard. My spots are also a lot darker and I have black tears running down my face. Besides that, I love my family and the leopard is almost always alone. No surprise that others want to be around me. I am the fastest and the prettiest, or what do you think?
As I can hide very well you can only see me when I am hunting. My home is the Krüger National Park and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. A few friends of mine are staying in the out-reach program at Spier Winefarm in Cape Town, and the cheetah research center in the Waterberg region.
So, if you want to, you can visit me sometime but be quiet otherwise you will chase away my little animals!
