Tanda Tula Safari Camp, in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve bordering the Kruger National Park, offers a five-star personal wilderness experience in ultimate luxury. It is one of South Africa’s most luxurious East African styled tented camps offering guests an unforgettable experience in ‘Big Five’ game viewing, warm hospitality and award winning cuisine. Set on the banks of the Nharalumi riverbed, Tanda Tula is shaded by majestic trees and overlooks a watering hole that attracts wildlife from dawn till dusk. Each of the 12 tents is completely private, surrounded by lush riverine bush with a deck overlooking the riverbed. These wide wooden decks as well as the spacious bathrooms with Victorian baths and outside showers are reminiscent of a bygone era.
Guest areas include a traditional boma for dining under the African stars; a thatched lounge with an open-sided bar overlooking a waterhole; a swimming pool; and a curio shop.
Meals include early morning tea & coffee & rusks which are brought to your tent, a bush breakfast, buffet lunch, afternoon tea and dinner either in the boma, on the deck or in the riverbed.
A team of expert Rangers and Trackers lead morning and evening game drives on open-sided vehicles. Guests can enjoy the solitude and feel the true expanse of wilderness, as vehicles are limited to one per square kilometre. For those who prefer a more active approach, rangers and trackers will lead walking safaris. These are popular with bird lovers who can delight in spotting many of the 360 species that make this area their home.

Save The Elephants: For the past five years Tanda Tula has served as the main sponsor for the Save The Elephants Transboundary Elephant Research Project. This resident elephant research project tracks the movements of elephants in order to enable the reserve to make informed management decisions. Guests can gain first-hand knowledge of elephant conservation.
