Crocodile in South Africa - Safari Lodge Information - Cape Info

There is an estimated 6 000 crocodiles in the Kruger National Park and the St. Lucia Wetland Park of which the most common is the Nile crocodile reaching a length of up to six meters.

They use their powerful tails to navigate and swim through the water whereas on dry land they use their tail and strong legs. Despite their looks crocodiles are capable to move as quick as lightning through mud and swamps.

Crocodiles hunt mostly in the late evening hours until dawn. When they are young they nourish on small animals including crawfish, worms, and beetles whereas when they are fullgrown they feed on fishes, water birds and medium-sized mammals.

You will find them at Kruger National Park and St. Lucia Wetland Park.
