Baboons live in large troops from 20 to 100 animals. A complicated hierarchy controls the group. Baboons will eat anything they can get hold of, but the main constituent of their diet is insects, lizards, berries and wild fruit. One should not feed baboons as they associate humans with food very quickly.

Cape Baboons:
These animals can get very aggressive when stealing items and attacking people. They are wild animals and should therefore be treated as such. It may be entertaining to watch them, but do not get too close and do not touch them.

Baboons can be seen anywhere in South Africa, especially in the mountainous regions.
