Antelope belong to the group Bodivae and differ from the Cervidae, as they do not lose their horns.
In most of the antelope species, the male also has a small horn on his forehead. |

Springbok
Another species is the Kudu that can jump over a 2.5 m fence without any real problem, and the Waterbuck, that is protected from predators by its rancid tasting flesh. |
You can see various antelope species in the Kruger National Park, as well as in the Addo Elephant Park and many other private game reserves along the east coast.
The most commonly seen antelope is the Impala, of which there are about 100 000 in these Game Reserves.
