Piketberg Holiday Accommodation - Elands Baai B&B - South Africa Travel Guide   Namakwaland Accommodation: Bikers destination near Piketberg – Guesthouse Accommodation - RED01   The small village of Redelinghuys is situated in the Sandveld and is a mere 20 minutes drive from Elands Bay and 2 hours from Cape Town. This charming little town is surrounded by overhanging cliffs, the beautiful Verlorenvlei and the majestic Atlantic Ocean.   The banks of the Verlorenvlei offers a wealth of bird viewing possibilities and with over 230 bird species it's one of the Western Cape's most interesting ornithology destinations.   Another major attraction is the arrival of spring when the plains burst into colour. During the months of August to October, after a short rainy season, countless wildflowers stretch over the expansive fields with a colourful and spectacular wealth of blossoms.   Namakwaland gueshouse accommodation   The Redelinghuys area mainly has sandy earth and is therefore a popular 4x4 destination. It's also a favourite biker's stop due to its convenient en-route location as well as the kilometre long scenic stretches. Canoeing and hiking trails are also available for visitor's enjoyment.   The guesthouse is a thatched roof 4-bedroom house with the charm of an old cottage preserved and protected under the monument preservation law. The bedrooms are simple but comfortable and can be shared on a 3-bed or 4-bed basis. The kitchen boasts a large fireplace traditionally used in days gone by, and still very much used today. Here coffee is always on the boil and free of charge. Other (alcoholic) drinks are readily available at a minimal fee (and can be paid for at the end of your stay).   Adding to the serene atmosphere of this guesthouse and its surroundings is the 2500m² garden which has over thirty fruit trees (orange, guavas, apricots, etc). Guests are welcome to use the braai (barbecue) area which is situated under the trees and overlooks the paddocks were Tina and Bonnie (the owner's two horses) graze daily.
