South Africa Accommmodation Cape Town Holiday and Infos
Cape Agulhas is most commonly known as the official place where the two oceans (the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans) meet and loosely translated means "Cape of Needles". It consists of a rocky beach with quite shallow waters and is renowned as one of the best fishing grounds in South Africa. The sea off Cape Agulhas is notorious for winter storms and large waves, which can sink even large ships. The lighthouse at Cape Agulhas was built in homage to the Pharos of Alexandria – one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Still working, it's a well known point of visit for travellers.
