This fully furnished and equipped upmarket holiday flat is situated in a security complex that is within walking distance of the beach. It sleeps 4 comfortably, however a camping mattress with bedding and enough cutlery and crockery as well as seating is available for a fifth person.
The flat is on the first floor and both the living room and the main bedroom face the fishpond which forms part of the complex's garden. This pond is often visited by cormorants, seagulls, wild geese and many other birds.
The living room has a TV, (DSTV for Multichoice cardholders) DVD player and a HiFi. The kitchen has all the appliances you need such as a fridge/freezer, 4-plate oven and hob, toaster, coffee machine, electric kettle and microwave oven. The flat also offers an electric heater, radio alarm clock, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board, which all come in handy during a longer stay.
There are two big built-in cupboards available in the bedrooms but if you prefer to travel light you may find the communal laundry room with coin operated washing machines and tumble dryers very useful.
Furthermore there is a large communal pool with braai (barbeque) facilities and a large grassed area for outdoor activities. A jogging trail circles the inner boundary of the complex but plenty of benches are available for the “not so active” as well.
A small shopping mall with a 7-11 supermarket, beauty salon, Mr Video, laundry service and other shops are situated within walking distance to the flat.
To reach the beach you have to walk in the direction of the small shopping mall, cross the road and then follow a foot path that cuts through the grassy dunes of "Pauline's Beach". The beach is very wide and ideal for long walks, kite flying and ball games. The water is very shallow and ideal for surfing and kite surfing. There is a surf school at the Muizenberg Promenade where surf boards can be hired. For the kids there is a giant waterslide and mini golf area.
Alternatively go for a walk on the footpath that follows the rocky coastline between Muizenberg Station and St. James and, if you are too tired to walk back again, simply hop on the train! If you are in the area during whale season be sure to do some whalewatching from Boyes Drive. You can either walk or drive this route, but don't forget your binoculars! Simon's Town, with its famous penguin colony, and many of Cape Town's wine farms such as Groot Constantia are also within easy reach.
