B&B Lodge or self catering apartments – a mountain hide-away in the beautiful Hout Bay valley
The lodge is a small, exclusive guest lodge situated in a wooded wonderland on the back slope of Table Mountain in the beautiful Hout Bay valley, adjacent to the Orange Kloof Forest Reserve. You can step straight from the garden onto some of the magnificent Table Mountain walks.
The two accommodations are in a pine forest setting in a beautiful, well established garden, featuring a pool and Koi pond. The vista from our pool is one of the finest amphitheater views in the Cape Peninsula and lies within ten meters of the pristine forest reserve with its abundant bird life.
We are ideally situated for all the wonderful attractions the peninsula has to offer – Kirstenbosch, the Constantia Wine Route, the quaint Hout Bay fishing village with its picturesque harbour and beach, the lovely and secluded beaches of Llandudno and Sandy bay, as well as the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive and the vast length of Long Beach. The nearest beach is about 7 minutes’ drive away. |
The Guesthouse
The B&B lies on the lower part of the property. Accommodation consists of 5 individually furnished spacious double rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The bathrooms are fitted with showers and heated towel rails. Breakfast is served in the bright and colourful breakfast room. For colder days or comfortable evenings an open plan bar lounge is centred around a small fire place.

Experience the beauty of the Hout Bay valley from the comfort of our majestic guest house which is situated in tranquil forest on the back slopes of Table Mountain. The guest house is isolated from the rush of everyday life, allowing you to unwind in tranquil surroundings where you can ejnoy the many attractions that Hout Bay, and indeed the Cape Peninsula offers.
Our upstairs rooms are double bedded, with a spacious en suite bathroom with bath, shower & toilet, as well as heated towel rails. The rooms are spacious and finely furnished, with attention to detail and comfort. The rooms are furnished in pale wood, tranquil colours and white linen, with an abundance of light filtering through the trees, making them an oasis of peace.
Adjoining each room are specially designed, private opening balconies with magnificent mountain and forest views and comfortable recliners for soaking up the ambience. Rooms are equipped with Television and Coffee making facilities. Our downstairs rooms, we feel are ideal for a family or close friends. These are 2 adjoining spacious rooms, both double bedded with shared shower and toilet facilities. Stable doors lead out of each of these rooms onto a paved area and from here it is a short walk to the pool.
Self Catering Accommodation
The self catering accommodation is a short walk from the main guest house and is situated nearby the pool, which lies in an amphitheater created by the surrounding mountains. Walk out of your door onto the mountain slope, enjoying the surprises that each season brings and the peace of the forest.
Our ground floor unit opens onto lush green lawn, with a sensation of space created by the not too distant "ring of mountains". Our upstairs units sport unimpaired mountain & forest views & as they share a common entrance can be utilised by a family group as 1 large unit.
The self-catering apartments
Situated approximately 300 meters above the B&B, lie the 3 self-catering apartments. The self catering accommodation is ideally suited for couples. There are two spacious double bedded units with an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area and en suite bath and toilet.
Sunbird Mountain Lodge - Unit 1
The upstairs loft-style unit has a bright and sunny quality, created by a combination of sky lights, vibrant colour and space. There is a double bed and downstairs bathroom. The beautiful kitchen is finished with beech and black granite and is continuous with the open plan dining area and lounge.
Sunbird Mountain Lodge - Unit 2
The bottom unit adjoins the main house and is a little more compact than the loft style apartment, but has both a bath and shower, both of which have views of the garden and mountains, making this part of ones daily routine a restful and special experience. There are two single beds in the bright, colourful yet restful bedroom. The open plan kitchenette, dining area and lounge is compact and finished in pale wood and aquamarine making it both sunny and restful.
All self catering units have a spacious, restful yet colourful feel, with themes taken from nature. The kitchens are tastefully equipped with 4 plate hobs, microwave ovens & combined fridge & freezer units.Neat clean cut bathrooms contain glass panel showers & offer magnificent forest & mountain vistas.
