In the heart of the Malaria Free Eastern Cape, and a short 40km from East London, you will find this exclusive Private Game Reserve. With it's rolling hills and river valleys, this 3000ha reserve is home to lion, rhino, buffalo, hippo, giraffe, zebra and numerous antelope and bird species and offers guests thrilling experiences with guided Game drives, bird watching, nature walks and bass fishing.
Guests have a choice of 2 bedroomed chalets overlooking the river as well as 4 and 5 star lodge accommodation (bedrooms with en-suite facilities).
Guests are invited to cool-off in the lodge's swimming pool or warm up the chilly African evening-air with a roaring fireplace in the lounge/dining area.
The Huberta Restaurant is a unique restaurant built overlooking a hippo pool where guests can sit at leisure and watch the hippos' less than a short stone's throw away. The restaurant offers a delightful mix of traditional African Game and European dishes. Alternatively guests can experience the unique atmosphere of lamb-on-the-spit and traditional South African “Pot roasts” under the Buffalo Lapa.
Recreational Activities on offer: Game Drives, Bird Watching, Fishing, Nature Walks. Two golf courses are approximately 35km from the Reserve, one of which has hosted six SA Opens. A whale watching deck, situated at the aquarium on East London's Esplanade, offers spectacular views of whales.
