Set on a corner of Beach and Queens Roads in Sea Point, The Peninsula is an all- suite hotel which was officially opened in September 1990. The shell of the 40 year old Albenor Hotel formed part of the overall building, lending a " late Sea Point art deco" character to that of a contemporary design in keeping with the four star status demanded. Situated on a prime stretch of Cape coastline beneath Lion's Head, The Peninsula's 110 truly oversized and luxurious suites offer magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean and Robben Island.

Accommodation
Studio Suite: All Studio Suites comprise of an open-plan bedroom and lounge with a separate kitchenette. All have private bathrooms with shower. The majority of the Studio Suites have private balconies and all are sea-facing.

Mini Suite: These suites are either open-plan units consisting of a bedroom, lounge and kitchen with a spa bath and shower, or an open-plan lounge and kitchen with a private bedroom with bathroom en-suite and a separate shower and toilet.

Luxury Suite: These suites comprise a large lounge with an open-plan kitchen, a master bedroom with spa bathroom en-suite, a second bedroom with a shower and toilet. Suites offer sea views from either the lounge or main bedroom.
   
Super Luxury: The Super Luxury Suites have large sea-facing lounges with an open-plan kitchen, a sea-facing master bedroom with spa bathroom en-suite, a second bedroom with a separate shower and toilet.

Royal Suite: The Royal Suites offer gracious luxury with 3 separate bedrooms, with the master bedroom having a spa bathroom en-suite. The other two bedrooms share the second bathroom with a separate toilet. Each Suite has 3 balconies and a large open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen.

Facilities
Restaurants include the informal 3Thirteen which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It serves a varied a la carte menu and is child-friendly. Sunset on 3Thirteen is only open for dinner and specialises in modern African cuisine. The Faces Cocktail Bar is ideal for sundowners.

Conference facilities include the Boardroom and the Society Room and the Sunset Restaurant is the ideal venue for Weddings and Banquets.

One of the added delights to staying at the Peninsula is the variety of health and fitness facilities and activities on offer. The gym is very compact and is situated on the first floor which includes the following facilities:
